About Maggie’s Cheltenham

Maggie’s in Cheltenham provides free support to people with cancer and their loved ones throughout The Three Counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. We offer a programme of support that has been shown to strengthen physical and emotional wellbeing and have professional staff on hand to offer the support people need to find their way through cancer.

Anyone, with any type of cancer, and their family and friends can get face to face support in our centre near to Cheltenham General Hospital or give us a call to get immediate advice and support. We spend time with those coming to terms with an initial diagnosis, distraught family members in need of reassurance and people feeling anxious as they wait for treatment or an appointment. We help people with the psychological and emotional challenges that cancer brings. People need time to talk – about their cancer, their symptoms, about treatment options, and their feelings.

The coronavirus pandemic is having a devastating impact on people with cancer and their loved ones. Already having to cope with the huge strain and anxiety of cancer itself, people with cancer are now facing fears around becoming unwell, increased problems with finances and the emotional impact of isolation. We are finding they need Maggie’s more than ever and we have responded rapidly to the current situation.  Our expert team are providing vital support in the centre, on the telephone, by video call and through our online community to everyone who needs it. Without the incredible generosity of our supporters, our work would not be possible.

On behalf of the people whose journey through cancer is being made easier by Maggie’s, thank you for your support. Find out more about the services we provide and how to support us at http://maggies.org/cheltenham
